About Nidhi:

Nidhi is an Indian chef and entrepreneur with over 12 years of teaching experience. She founded her own cookery school, Meri Rasoi in 2011 and has also taught across other cookery schools in the UK. She is also the founder and Head of Food at Cookaway, UK's leading World Food Recipe Kit brand and she also regularly judges at the Great Taste Awards, which are often described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world.

Growing up in a vibrant Indian household, Nidhi's love affair with flavours began early. Now, through her cooking classes, she opens the doors to Indian home cooking, making it accessible and oh-so-irresistible. Join her in demystifying Indian cuisine, one mouth-watering dish at a time, as she shares her heartfelt passion for authentic Indian flavours with you.

What you will learn:

• Marinating: Learn the importance of marinating proteins and vegetables to enhance flavour and tenderness. 
• Spice Blending: Understand the balance of spices, essential in Indian cuisine.
• Cooking Techniques: Master essential cooking techniques such as sautéing, grilling, and simmering, tailored specifically to Indian cooking methods.
• Chutney Making: Master the process of blending fresh herbs and spices to create the refreshing Coriander Mint Chutney, enhancing your understanding of flavour combinations.

These skills will enable you to create delicious Indian dishes while developing a solid foundation in Indian culinary techniques.

The class will be led by a Head Chef Nidhi Verma and Assistant Chef, and class sizes typically range from 6-12 students. All of our classes involve knife skills and our chefs can also answer other questions you may have around ingrendients or techniques. Each student has their own chopping board and prep space, but the cooking at the hob is done in pairs. We recommend you bring some tupperware for taking home any leftovers. 

This class is suitable for all levels of experience, from seasoned chefs to total beginners. We are here to help you become more confident in your skills and learn new techniques to impress your family and friends.
