In this Full Day Introduction to Dim Sum cooking class, you will learn:

• Using a Chinese cleaver: Our experienced chefs will show you how to properly use a Chinese cleaver to cut, slice and chop ingredients like a pro. 

• Wrapping and folding Jiaozi dumplings: You'll be taught several techniques for wrapping and folding Jiaozi dumplings in an authentic style, which is an art in itself. Our chefs will guide you through the process of making perfect dumplings with the right amount of filling and the proper seal, so your dumplings will be as delicious as they are beautiful.

• Steaming with bamboo baskets in a wok: Steaming is an essential cooking method in Chinese cuisine, we will teach you how to steam dim sum to perfection using traditional bamboo baskets in a wok. You'll learn how to control the heat and timing to achieve the perfect texture and flavour.

• Chinese seasoning and sauces: Our classes also teach you the key basics of Chinese seasoning, to make delicious Chinese dishes every time. You'll also learn about the different sauces that are commonly used in Chinese cooking, and how to incorporate them into your dim sum dishes.

By the end of the class, you'll have the skills and knowledge to create your own delicious and authentic Chinese dumplings at home, impressing your friends and family with your newfound expertise.

The class will be led by a Head Chef and Assistant Chef, and class sizes typically range from 6-12 students. All of our classes involve knife skills and our chefs can also answer other questions you may have around ingrendients or techniques. Each student has their own chopping board and prep space, but the cooking at the hob is done in pairs. We recommend you bring some tupperware for taking home any leftovers. 

Our class menu may feature common allergens such as nuts, shellfish, and egg. If you have any allergies, please let us know so we can offer alternative recipes and ingredients.  We are also happy to accommodate vegetarians, so please don't hesitate to inquire about the menu.
