Peanut Butter Bao S'mores with Cobra Beer

Enjoy these peanut butter buns with charred marshmallows and pair with a sip of Cobra beer between each delicious bite!

  • 1 x School of Wok Bao Bun Kit / portion of bao dough recipe

  • A bottle of Cobra beer on the side

  • Handful of marshmallows on a bamboo skewer

  • 4-5 tbsp crunchy peanut butter

  • 4-5 tbsp Nutella or chocolate spread

  • 3-4 tbsp butter

Preparation

  • Make the bao dough, following the bao kit instructions or the School of Wok bao dough recipe here. Split into 8-10 equal pieces and then roll into balls and press them down to form mini burger bun shapes. Allow to proof for a further 15-20 minutes in a warm, humid place.

Cooking

  • Spray the buns or brush them with water before steaming and then steam on full steam for 8 minutes. Once the buns are cooked through, remove from the steamer, slice through the middle and then butter the inside of the buns. Sear on the bbq or on a hotplate / frying pan to brown lightly.

  • You can also butter and sear the top and bottom of the bao burger buns too. Once golden brown, spread either peanut butter or Nutella or both into the bun and then grill your marshmallows. Using the peanut butter Nutella buns, grab a melted, charred marshmallow in between the bun and enjoy with a sip of Cobra beer between each sumptuous bite!
