Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas
The batter
- 2 tbsp black sesame seeds
- 100g cornflour
- 200g all purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 1 tsp of sugar
- 300ml water
Method
Preparation
Mix all the batter ingredients together and set aside.
Cut the bananas into quarters. Once cut, place the quarters into the batter and coat well
Cooking
Half-fill a large pot, wok or deep-fryer with vegetable oil and heat to 180°C (350°F), or until the tip of a wooden chopstick or skewer starts to fizz after a second or so in the oil.
Dip the banana slices into the batter and carefully deep-fry until golden brown, about
2 minutes. Remove the pieces carefully with a slotted spoon and drain well on a plate covered with kitchen paper.
Serve on their own, or with your favourite ice cream!
