In this 3hr Vegetarian Introduction to Thai cooking class, you will learn a variety of essential cooking techniques and skills while creating delicious dishes packed with flavour.
- Knife Skills: You'll learn the basics of using a Chinese cleaver to cut, slice, and chop vegetables, meat, and other ingredients like a pro.
- Pestle and mortar: One of the most important skills you'll learn in our Thai Street Food cooking class is how to use a pestle and mortar to make authentic curry paste. In addition to making your own curry paste from scratch you'll learn how to prepare and cook your own curry paste from scratch using a variety of herbs and spices.
- Thai seasoning basics: You'll be introduced to the essential herbs and spices used in Thai cuisine, such as lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, and Thai basil. You’ll be taught how to properly use these ingredients to create a perfect balance of flavours in your dishes.
By the end of this class, you will have gained the confidence and skills to recreate these delicious and fragrant vegetarian Thai dishes in the comfort of your own home. The class will be led by a Head Chef and Assistant Chef, and class sizes typically range from 6-12 students. All of our classes involve knife skills and our chefs can also answer other questions you may have around ingrendients or techniques. Each student has their own chopping board and prep space, but the cooking at the hob is done in pairs. We recommend you bring some tupperware for taking home any leftovers.

- Butternut Squash Red Curry - An authentic, spicy curry paste cooked with butternut squash and simmered in coconut milk, seasoned with palm sugar
- Green Papaya Salad - Green papaya salad served with fresh herbs and a spicy, sweet and sour dressing
- Veg Thai Spring Rolls - Vegetable and bean sprout mixture cooked and then wrapped in pastry and deep fried until crisp and golden
- Sticky Rice - Fragrant Jasmine rice cooked to perfection

Get ready for an amazing 3-hour cooking experience that will unleash your inner chef! Our 3 hr classes are designed to give you a hands-on experience of 2 1/2 hours of cooking, followed by 30 minutes to enjoy your creations with a well-deserved glass of wine.

Our classes have up to 12 students with 1 Head Chef and 1 Assistant Chef, providing an intimate and personalised experience.
What is included?
We provide all ingredients and equipment, a welcome drink, soft drinks, tea, coffee, and a light lunch. After the class, enjoy your meal with wine or beer, and take any leftovers home.
