Spicy Pork Bulgogi
The right amount of heat brings this classic Korean dish together. Tender pieces of pork belly served on a bed of steam rice

Ingredients
- 300g pork belly sliced
- 1 white onion
The marinade
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2cm piece of ginger
- 3 tbsp Korean chilli paste
- 2 tbsp Korean chilli powder
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- Black pepper
Method
Preparation
1. Finely chop the garlic, ginger. Finely slice the onion. Combine the rest of the marinade ingredients in a medium size bowl, add the pork belly and massage the marinade into the pork and onions.
2. Marinade for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results
Cooking
3. Heat a heavy based pan with vegetable oil, sear the pork slices 2 - 3 minutes on each side, add the onions and rest of the marinade and cook on medium heat for 8 - 10 minutes until the pork is fully cooked and onions have softened.
4. Serve with steamed rice and garnish with spring onions and sesame seeds.
