Our seafood and fish class is perfect for pescatarians- or seafood enthusiasts- in making delicately oriental seasoned dishes to absolute perfection.

We'll teach you how to prepare seafood in a variety of textures and seasonings. You’ll be taught how to fold and fill crispy prawn wontons, create the perfect balance with sweet and sour squid and prawns, wok-fry the perfect egg fried rice and steam lovely salmon fillets with traditional Chinese seasoning.

Suitability

This class is perfect all levels of experience- come join us whether you consider yourself a seasoned chef or a total beginner- we’re here to help you become more confident in your skills!

  • You will learn the basics of cutting, slicing and chopping using a Chinese cleaver.

  • Our Head Chef will introduce you to wok cooking in our specially equipped kitchen where you can awaken your inner wok-star skills!

  • You’ll also be shown the simple art of steaming using traditional Chinese bamboo steamers inside of woks and how to correctly handle different types of seafood and fish to get the best results in your dishes.

-Our classes also teach you the key basics of Chinese seasoning and what sauces to use to make delicious Chinese dishes every time!

What measures have you put in place to keep your staff and customers safe?

During the class
  • Our tutors will also be wearing face masks.
  • All customer bags and coats to be kept under their own prep station.
  • No sharing of ingredients / or utensils.
  • Aprons will be disposable plastic aprons. (you are more than welcome to bring your own)
  • Customers will have their own individual prep stations (1 meter apart).
  • Customers will be working at their own hobs when cooking in the kitchen.
  • Floor to be marked with tape, to help with social distancing where appropriate.
Dining and after the lesson
  • Customers will dine 1 meter apart from each other at the end of the class or customers can tub up their food and leave if they wish.
  • Disposable cups will be used for wine, beer and soft drinks.
  • We will use disposable plates / cutlery / chopsticks for dining.
  • Extra bins provided for guest to dispose of any disposables used to avoid our team having to touch anything that has been in contact with your mouths.
  • We will only be accepting contactless payment on the day for any purchases from the gift shop.
School of Wok team:
  • Our team is only to travel off peak and avoid public transport where possible.
  • The SOW team is going to work in 2 teams to avoid any cross contamination between our teams making it easier for any track and trace incidents.
  • Extra care and attention will be given when cleaning and sanitising between classes
